I visit Peshawar, Pakistan several times a year to select handmade, wool carpets, kilims and jewelry. I choose each piece; I do not buy in bulk. I choose items with original designs from various regions and of different ages. Peshawar is 50 km from the famed Khyber Pass and has become the center for carpets and kilims coming from Afghanistan. In the streets, in addition to the noisy, yet, colorful buses, you see horses and buggies transporting people and carpets and kilims from one bazaar to another.
